Monique's main appearance in the series.

"Great. Just great. I always have to fix everyone else's mistakes."
Monique Waters, Found

Monique Waters is a former gate agent at Liston Airport. Monique was one of two people, the other being Angela DuPre, who actually saw the plane appear in Found. She never speaks of the incident ever again after that day.

The Missing[]

Found[]

In the prologue of Found, Monique is seen working at Sky Trails Air with Angela DuPre. Monique was constantly nasty towards her during her first and only day working at Sky Trails Air, often talking down towards Angela as if she is stupid or mentally slow. When the plane appeared at their gate (Gate 2B) and Angela almost mentions the word "crash", Monique suddenly gets very angry and tells her not to use the word "crash" at the airport. Upon seeing the plane disappear, Monique shouted: "Holy crap! Where'd that plane go?" Despite this, Monique agrees to comply with the FBI's request for everybody to deny witnessing the plane.

Thirteen years later, during the main events of Found, Katherine and Chip contact every person on the Witnesses list, which Katherine photographed while in James Reardon's office. Recanting her call with Monique, Katherine tells Jonah: "That woman loved hanging up on us. She was cold."

Jonah, Katherine, and Chip meet Angela shortly afterwards in the Liston Public Library where she tells them her story about what she saw. She also mentions that after the incident, everybody was told to deny it. However, when Angela herself refused to, Monique willingly signed disability papers and claimed Angela to be "delusional and prone to hallucinations and unfit to work at Sky Trails", resulting in Angela losing her job.

Revealed[]

Jonah time travels to the scene of the time crash to give Angela a letter to read thirteen years later. When looking for Angela at the airport, Jonah accidentally bumps into a female gate agent wearing a Sky Trails uniform. The gate agent (who is never actually referred to as Monique in this book, but is confirmed to be her) angrily tells him to "Watch where [he's] going!". Later, Jonah gives Angela the letter at the desk where the two are working and sees Monique being condescending towards Angela, making him feel sorry for her.

Description[]

When working at Sky Trails, Monique often complained about always having to fix everyone else's mistakes, and was very strict and impatient. Not much is known about Monique's present-day life; she no longer works for Sky Trails Air, as they went bankrupt a few years after the incident. Additionally, Katherine and Chip's call with her confirms that she is still unwilling to talk about the crash.
